However, now, thanks to Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, Efreet Flamepainter has a new best friend in Angelfire Ignition, with the sorcery giving Flamepainter haste, trample, and +2/+2, which will allow us to attack by surprise and also get in damage through blockers, greatly improving our chances of flashing back some spells for free. The problem is that it isn't always all that easy to get in combat damage with a 1/4-even a 1/4 with double strike. #EFREET FLAME PAINTER DECK FOR FREE#If it can get in combat damage, it will allow us to cast two instants or sorceries from our graveyard for free each turn, which is an immense amount of value. Efreet Flamepainter is a really cool and potentially powerful card. I'd say the biggest issue is a haste-giver not always being present when its needed.Hello, everyone! Welcome to another episode of Much Abrew About Nothing. I would love to see if anyone can come up with some better choices than what we've boiled it down to. Getting another fervent mastery with it can be useful, but you gotta pray your rosary twice. Casting it for the apprentice cost makes people not want to counter it. It is intended to be used to get the emergent ultimatums and an Efreet. If it hits all 3 Efreets, concede on sight. This also gives us a much needed blocker to survive against aggro long enough.įervent Mastery - Turns this from jank to turbojank. We're really trying to not give the opponent any way to interact with our setup phase, so this big honking wall really dissuades removal. This replaced Goblin Tunneler, as the opponent would remove it quite often.Ĭrashing Drawbridge - A survivable and non-threatening haste-giver. This card causes the combo to be most likely done on turn 5, as you need one extra mana to equip it and play the efreet simultaneously. Wings of Hubris - An amazing way to give Efreet evasion with very little interaction available to the opponent. A more control-oriented Izit shell could change the match ups significantly. The boros slant helps keep an aggro tone while mitigating potential removal spells. The biggest danger to this deck is Control. When against Rogues, their milling actually assists you in triggering the combo earlier. This deck consistently outpaces white lifegain aggro. Mardu is not as good in best of ones, but might be better as a sideboard morph. I've already attempted to make a Mardu version for Duress to make sure the efreet is clear for take-off. I could absolutely see this core combo in a Jeskai or Izit shell. This also helps the best land+spell cards be actually used as lands. Its Boros in order to use the Selfless Saviors, Thrilling Discovery, and to Rip Apart enchantments targeting Efreet. The biggest vulnerability is drawing a combo piece early, which is mitigated with high-value alternatives. It happens surprisingly often, and it almost always happens by turn 5 with no intervention from the opponent. After watching Mono Black Magic on youtube use Emergent Ultimatum to win with generated value through extra combat steps with Fury of Akoum, my friends and I managed to find a much more consistent, immediate OTK at instant speed.Įfreet Flamepainter freecasting Emergent Ultimatum with Colossification, Peer into the Abyss, and Underworld Dreams / Tefari's Tutelage will kill an opponent on the spot turn 4. Initially I was using a combo that was awful: trying to burn them with spells like sundering strike. Seeing Efreet Flamepainter in the spoilers made me immediately think this sort of thing would be possible.
